LITERARY: Logolepsy: Inchoate

I don’t know what you need to
keep on going. All I know is that it’s tough and sometimes and you feel like
giving up. Some days are great, some days are okay, but some days lose their
color, lose the adhesive that renders everything coherent, lack luster. On
those days, you feel like crying so hard you give the Dead Sea life. It gets
better, they say. Sometimes it does. And then it doesn’t. You think to
yourself, how much of this is really worth it? And sometimes you say, I don’t
know. It’s only the beginning but the darkness around your eyes grows as deep
as the black of the night outside your windows. This is only the beginning. You
have already been into battles – against the Sandman, against Time, against
your own thoughts, your feelings, your ghosts, against yourself – and you will
face so much more. You will need the best weapons from your armoury and you
will have to fight every single one of your nemeses. It will not be easy,
because ‘easy’ is only almost always the Lazy Man’s illusion or escape from
dealing with life’s hurdles the real way. Face it, buddy, life is unfair. But
if you think about it hard enough, isn’t life fair because it’s unfair to
everyone?
What’s important is to never
forget that you are not made of paper and glass. You are not just skin and
bones. You are anything but weak. You may be inchoate but determination runs
through your veins, and diamonds punctuate your soul. There is a spark that
illuminates your very being in a proximodistal pattern. It starts from the
center and glows outward. Never let it burn out; never let it die. Every single
day the human individual undergoes a series of events or changes to help himself
grow, and this does not exempt you. You are a work in progress, your own canvas
– this is your nature. Yet you are a
montage that is taking years to complete – the constantly changing result of a
patchwork of different people, different experiences, different choices you
make, different surroundings you find yourself in. This renders you a
masterpiece. And the greatest works of art there are have all taken time to
process and complete, not to mention the amount of time it takes for the
artists to master and hone their skills.
Roadblocks and obstructions will
always be inevitable. They are all part of the journey. If you do not find them
along the way, you’re going in the wrong direction. If you choose not to go
through them, you lose. You will never know the feeling of satisfaction and
triumph over the monsters you never thought you’d be able to conquer because
you have put the sword down before trying to strike with it. The fight will be
worth it, and so are you. Remember why you are here. Keep going.
